Ariel Gail
Professor Gail S. Goodman holds a Honorary Chair in Psychology within the University of California Davis and is Director of the Center for Public Policy Research. She has been widely recognized for her pioneering work in studying witnesses from children as well as memories of eyewitnesses within legal contexts. Professor Goodman is an prolific writer and has been awarded numerous awards and grants. She has collaborated with a variety of authorities and organisations across the world on policy and research pertaining to child victims of the legal system. She serves as a consultant for the Special Assault Forensic Evaluation Center of Sacramento County Child Protective Services (formerly Multidisciplinary Interview Center). She is a part of many professional organizations including those of the Association for Psychological Science and the American Psychological Association (Divisions Experimental Psychology Developmental Psychology Society for the Psychological Study of Social Issues Society for Child and Family Policy and Practice American Psychology-Law Society Psychological Psychology for Women and Traumatic Stress). She also is a founding member of the American Professional Society for the Abuse of Children, the Psychonomics Society Society for Research in Child Development, and the International Society for Traumatic Stress Studies. She served as the president of American Psychological Association's three divisions including Division American Psychology Law Society, Division Developmental Psychology and Division Society for Child and Family policy and practice.
