Adults are humans or animals who have completed their development. For humans adults have meanings associated with moral and social concepts. In contrast to a person who is that isn't considered an adult, or "minor" an legal adult has attained majority, making them self-sufficient, capable, and responsible. Legal adults can also be called a major. 18 years is considered as the age of legal maturity, but this definition can differ according to the nation, lawful rights or psychological development.

After middle age (starting around age 40), comes older age (around the age of 60). The three major stages of adulthood are the early years (from the mid 30s until late 60s) and middle adulthood, from mid-30s to late-60s and later adulthood, (mid-60s through the time of death). In the early years of adulthood, our body has reached its full physical maturity. But, the body's size and weight could rise. In the early years of our adulthood, we're physically and mentally at the peak. The strength of our muscles, the response timing, the ability to sense as well as cardiac function, all hit their highest levels.
